I found the best way to do this was to use the HDMI input on the back of the projector to go out to the Firestick. With that you can use the Firestick remote to control the projector.

- Go to settings, system, display, and change the HDMI output to the same as your HDMI Input (in my case it was HDMI 2)
- Go to settings, system, display, and change the resolution to 1280 x 720 (this is the native resolution of the projector, but it can be changed if need be.
- Power off your Firestick.

- Use the Firestick remote to control the projector.

How to control the projector with Firestick remote?
The Fire stick remote can only control the TV. You need an infrared cord or wireless adapter to control the projector.
The projector power button is at the back side of the projector. You can use the IR or wireless adapter to turn on the projector. Also, the IR and adapter is for AV Receiver. If you have a smart TV, you can use the TV remote to control the projector. The steps are as follows:

How to control projector with firestick remote using RCA cable
There are several ways to control a projector using a Firestick Remote. The easiest way is to connect the Firestick Remote to the projector using an RCA cable. Connect the RCA output on the Firestick to the RCA input on the projector using a standard RCA cable.
